People who know me offline know that I am one of the most un-romantic people ever. I wish I could say I was kidding, but sadly, I’m not. However, when Valentine’s Day rolls around, I can feel my cold heart melting and I look around and see some of the most adorable couples happy and content in the world of geekdom! So, without further ado, here are five of my favourite (and five of the cutest!) couples out there!

| Ramona & Scott. So adorable! |
1.) Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
My love for the Scott Pilgrim series is pretty well known. However, my love for Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers is less well-known. They look absolutely adorable together, be it in the film version starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead or in comics form, they just look so cute together, and this artwork that I grabbed from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s (creator of the Scott Pilgrim series) Tumblr proves it even more.
2.) Finn and the Flame Princess from Adventure Time

Poor ol’ Finn doesn’t have much luck with the ladies. In the land of Ooo, one of his best friends, Princess Bubblegum, is six years older than him, and sadly for Finn, not interested in him. All the other ladies in Ooo are either lumping crazy (LSP, I'm looking at you!) or like Marceline, the Vampire Queen, just looking for friends. However, when Jake the dog sees Finn in the depths of despair of his misfortune with the ladies, (in particular, Princess Bubblegum) he goes out to find Finn a new girlfriend, in the shape of the lovely, albeit hot-headed Flame Princess. Finn and Flame Princess balance each other out, and Finn really, truly cares about her. Plus, I needed an excuse to post this adorable ValenTEE from Fine Tees!
3.) Zoe and Wash from Firefly
 |
| Zoe & Wash. |
Joss Whedon has long been a celebrated writer, but he is even more celebrated for writing and creating relationships between characters that are thoroughly believable, brilliant, and in typical Whedon-y goodness, equal. Out of the many, many awesome relationships Whedon has put together, I chose Zoe and Wash from cult hit series, Firefly. Together, these two are absolutely unstoppable, and despite being somewhat the odd couple, they get on amazingly, and it’s a testament to the acting skills of Gina Torres and Alan Tudyk that makes them so amazing.
4.) Wiccan and Hulkling from Young Avengers
 |

A fairly recent addition to my list, Wiccan (Billy Kaplan) and Hulkling (Teddy Altman) are the lovebirds from the roster of the Young Avengers, a series that recently got rebooted under the watchful eyes of Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie (my review of #1 is here) as part of the Marvel Now initiative. Under Gillen & McKelvie, their relationship has become everything that encapsulates teen relationships; dedication, love, and a sense of saccharin sweetness unseen anywhere else. The talk that Billy and Teddy have partway through #1 is one of the most heartfelt and honest conversations between characters, and feels 100% real. Above all that, Teddy and Billy know how sickeningly cute they are, which only adds to their cuteness!
5.) Mario and Princess Peach
I couldn’t write a list like this and not include some 8-bit goodness! Mario & Princess Peach are one of the best known couples in geekdom, as the masses of adorable cards I found on Etsy will tell you! What makes them better is the fact they’re so darn cute- especially so in 8-bit form.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
